Haitham Abu-Rub is an IEEE Fellow, full professor holding two PhDs, one in electrical engineering and another in humanities. He has worked at many universities in many countries including Poland, Palestine, USA, Germany, and Qatar. Since 2006, Abu-Rub has been with Texas A&M University at Qatar. Abu-Rub is the chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering Program at the same university as well as the managing director of Smart Grid Center – Extension in Qatar. His main research interests include electric drives, power electronic converters, renewable energy and smart grid. Dr. Abu-Rub is the recipient of many national and international awards and recognitions. He is the recipient of the American Fulbright Scholarship, the German Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, and many others. Dr. Abu-Rub has published more than 300 journal and conference papers, five books and five book chapters. He has supervised many potential research projects on electric drives, power converters, smart grid topics, and renewable energy systems.
